Bad Bunny – Wrestlemania
For those following Bad Bunny or the WWE it should come as no surprise that Bad Bunny will be competing at Wrestlemania in April. Ever since the Royal Rumble in January Bad Bunny has been appearing on WWE’s Monday Night Raw pretty regularly flanked by WWE Superstar Damian Priest.
At the Royal Rumble in January Bad Bunny performed his song “Booker T” off of his album ‘El Último Tour Del Mundo’. Later on in the night when The Miz made his entrance to the Royal Rumble match he “destroyed” the DJ equipment used for Bad Bunny’s performance. As revenge for this Bad Bunny got involved in the match and ended up diving off of the top rope to the floor onto The Miz and his tag team partner John Morrison.
Since then Bad Bunny has been very involved with the WWE. He ended up winning WWE’s 24/7 Championship by pinning R-Truth and held the title for quite a long time until recently when he decided to trade it back to R-Truth for some Stone Cold Steve Austin merchandise. Bad Bunny even brought the 24/7 Championship with him when he performed his song “Te Deseo Lo Mejor” on Saturday Night Live in February. The feud between The Miz and Bad Bunny has continued since the Royal Rumble with the two trash talking each other week after week. The feud really ramped after Bad Bunny taunted The Miz after the former lost the WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley. Last week The Miz attacked Bad Bunny with a guitar and escaped before Damian Priest could catch him. This led to last night when The Miz challenged Bad Bunny to a match at Wrestlemania. Bad Bunny didn’t waste much time with his response as he hit The Miz with a guitar after the challenge and announced, “I accept your challenge b***h!!” after the attack.
Wrestlemania is the WWE’s biggest annual show and is when they try to get the most eyes on their product. Bad Bunny’s addition to the Wrestlemania build seems like it will definitely be bringing more eyes to the company as Bad Bunny has been the biggest merchandise seller since his merch was released and his rabid social media following has definitely gotten more eyes on the product. WWE is no stranger to having celebrities competing at Wrestlemania going all the way back to the first Wrestlemania when Mr. T teamed with WWE legend Hulk Hogan to take on Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper in the main event. Other celebrities that have appeared at Wrestlemania include Cyndi Lauper, NFL Hall of Famer Lawerence Taylor, Alice Cooper, and even former President Donald Trump.
Wrestlemania this year will be at Raymond James Stadium over two nights on April 10 and 11. The Bad Bunny match will happen on night one on April. Other matches that have been announced for the two-night event include Bobby Lashley vs Drew McIntyre, Sasha Banks vs Bianca Belair, Edge vs Roman Reigns, and Asuka vs Rhea Ripley.
