Bad Bunny – Royal Rumble
On Monday (January 25) it was announced that Bad Bunny will perform his new single Booker T at WWE’s annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view event on January 31. The WWE made the announcement via a press release on Monday.
The song is named after WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. The music video for the song also features Booker T as his lesser-known character GI Bro.
In WWE’s press release Bad Bunny said, “Performing at the Royal Rumble is a childhood dream come true. I have been a lifelong fan of WWE and I am excited to take the stage and entertain fans around the world.”
Neil Lawi, Senior Vice President and General Manager of WWE Music Group, said of Bad Bunny in the press release, “Bad Bunny is at the top of the music industry, and a pop culture icon with strong ties to WWE and our fans around the world. We are thrilled to provide a global platform for his first-ever live performance of ‘Booker T’ as we kick off the road to WrestleMania.”
Royal Rumble is WWE’s annual January pay-per-view and considered the start of the lead up to their biggest wrestling event, Wrestlemania. Royal Rumble features a 30-man battle royal where entrants are eliminated when they are thrown over the top rope to the floor. Besides the Royal Rumble match itself, this year’s event will feature Goldberg taking on Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship and Roman Reigns battling Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship. This year the Royal Rumble will be held at Tropicana Field in Florida with no fans in attendance.
Bad Bunny’s newest album, ‘El Último Tour Del Mundo’, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s 200 chart. The album is also the first Spanish-language album to get to #1 in the history of the Billboard 200 spanning 64 years.
The Royal Rumble will air this Sunday January 31, 2021 at 7PM on WWE Network and traditional pay-per-view.
