The Ries Brothers are on the eve of dropping their brand new album – “Paint Your Emotion“. They’ve put a lot of themselves into this record. Hard work, influences, production and their unique talents as performers and songwriters.
I had the chance to chat with brothers Charlie and Kevin Jordan and I came away amazed by the way they described their sound and live show. If it’s not playing the bass ala Ray Manzarek but this time while playing the drums, it’s trying new miking techniques in the studio.
Th album which was produced by John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth, Social Distortion) offers up ten tracks of the brothers’ originality and influences all at the same time. They tell me that they loved working with Agnello and are always excited to work with him as they are already big fans of some of the albums he has produced in the past. It really seems like the perfect combination.
After they released the single “Troubadour (Feat. Iya Terra)” last month, their fans and press alike all had high praises to sing about the offering. A quick scan of their social media pages confirms the excitement about not only the song but the album as a whole.
