Mariah Carey – ‘Magical Christmas Special’

Mariah Carey announced today that she will be releasing a Christmas special along with a soundtrack to the special. The special is titled ‘Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special’ and it will be released on December 4th exclusively on Apple+. ‘Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special’ will be a combination of musical performances and animated shorts. The show will feature guests outside of Mariah including Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, and Snoop Dogg. 

The soundtrack will be released on the same day as the special exclusively on Apple Music. The soundtrack will be released on other platforms starting December 11th. The first single off the soundtrack will be “Oh Santa!” with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson.

Mariah Carey is no stranger to Christmas music as her song “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is considered one of the greatest Christmas songs of all time. 

When it was initially announced in August the special was described as “innovative” and a mix of music, dancing, and animated scenes. 

Apple will also feature Mariah Carey in an interview on Apple+ with interviewer Zane Lowe. The interview will have Mariah and Zane discussing Mariah’s past Christmas music that she has released over the years, her current music, and her memoir that was released earlier this year. The interview will be released on December 7th. Along with that, Apple Music Hits will feature a six-hour Holiday Hits with Mariah’s Christmas songs.

The special will also feature Tiffany Haddish, Jermaine Dupri, and Billy Eichner.
