Alternative rock artist No Signal is getting ready to launch his new EP entitled ‘venus’ on February 4, 2022. Before then we are treated to his sophomore single – ‘kope’.
The sound is otherworldly and crosses over a few genres in route to a fantastic outcome. There’s those great early 2000’s guitars and angst. Combine those with today’s technology, synths and mixing standards and the overall vibe gets really interesting when the song flows into the verses.
No Signal, the moniker for the musically proficient 19-year-old Riley Schmelzer really lets his voice soar on this track as well. I’m talking cool harmonies, long notes and a killer scream at the end of the track will definitely leave the listener wanting to hear more. The wait will not be that long since we’ll have a full EP to take for a spin next month!
“The bands that challenged traditional pop song structures but still broke through commercially really stuck out to me and were partially responsible for my epiphany to start a band,” says Riley. “It wasn’t necessarily their sound, but more so their originality in how they recorded and delivered their concepts while turning them into records. I realized all the biggest bands in the world are in that position because they sound like nobody else; they created something new and unique. This is what I’m doing with No Signal….I’m trying to break new sonic ground.”
I would say based what I’ve heard so far, that ground has already been breached.
