Phoebe Bridgers – SNL
Saturday Night Live has announced their hosts and musical guests for their next three episodes. The musical guests announced are headlined by Phoebe Bridgers who has been on fire lately. Phoebe will be performing on the February 6 episode that will be hosted by Dan Levy from the very popular Netflix show Schitt’s Creek.
Phoebe Bridgers released her album, ‘Punisher’, on June 18, 2020. ‘Punisher’ was released to massive critical success and Phoebe has been nominated for four Grammys in 2021 including Best New Artist, Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Performance, and Best Rock Song. The latter two awards were for her single “Kyoto” off of ‘Punisher’.
Saturday Night Live also announced the hosts and musical guests for their episodes on January 30 and February 13. The January 30 episode will be hosted by John Krasinski with Machine Gun Kelly as the musical guest. John Krasinski is best known for playing Jim on The Office and Machine Gun Kelly has recently released ‘Tickets to My Downfall’ which saw Machine Gun Kelly take a break from his rap roots and try his hand at a more pop-punk sound. On February 13 SNL has tabbed Regina King to host and Nathaniel Rateliff will be the musical guest. Regina King’s directorial debut, One Night in Miami, was just released on Amazon Prime and Nathaniel Rateliff released his album ‘And It’s Alright’ in February of 2020.
This will be the SNL debut for all of the musical guests announced. To be chosen as the musical guest for SNL marks a milestone in many artists’ careers.
SNL debuted in 1975 with Lorne Michaels as the creator. SNL launched the careers of an incredible amount of comedians including Bill Murray, Adam Sandler, and Will Ferrell among countless others. SNL airs live on Saturdays at 11:30PM on NBC.
