Rapper Playboi Carti has announced that his new album ‘Whole Lotta Red” will be released on Christmas Day. This will be the follow up to his debut album ‘Die Lit’ that was released in May of 2018. 

Playboy Carti originally announced that he was working on his second album back in August of 2018. In July of 2019 Playboi Carti posted on his Instagram that the album “could drop in the next 60 days”. Since then Playboi Carti fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of ‘Whole Lotta Red’. In the Instagram post he also says that the album “will have no features” but there are rumors that the new album could feature Travis Scott and Kid Cudi.

In April the rapper dropped his single “@ MEH” which was his first new music in about two years. That doesn’t mean Playboiu Carti has done nothing since he released “Die Lit”. Since that release Playboi Carti has been featured on songs by Drake, Solange, and Tyler, the Creator. 

Since his announcement in 2018 that he was working on ‘Whole Lotta Red’ many of the songs that were rumored to be on the album have been leaked. He also announced that he had about 50 songs that could potentially be on the album. Kanye West is an EP on ‘Whole Lotta Red’.

‘Die Lit’ reached number 3 on the US Billboard Top 200 and number 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums. 

Playboi Carti is from Atlanta, Georgia and is signed to Interscope Records under A$AP Mob’s AWGE imprint. The rapper initially gained attention by releasing his self-titled mixtape in 2017. Besides rapping Playboi Carti has done some modeling and is known for his fashion. Playboi Carti has modeled for Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 5 and Drake’s OVO Lookbook.
