TOMMY MARZ TO RELEASE COLLABORATION WITH PM DAWN ON PUDDLE OF MUDD’S ‘BLURRY’
Tommy Marz is set to release his first solo album in six years, Chasing Light – The Summer Part One on July 5th. In anticipation for the album’s release, Tommy will release his collaboration with 90’s legends, PM Dawn on June 21st. They’ve teamed up to cover the Puddle of Mudd hit song, ‘Blurry’.
Explaining how the collaboration came about, Tommy says, “I was really missing Prince Be and all of his genius. I decided to cover a song that PM Dawn has played live and so I reached out to Doc Gigs and asked if he’d be interested in being a part of the project. He liked the concept and so we laid down our parts in the song. I just hope that we did it justice. Not only for Be, but for Wes and the POM guys as well. It’s such an emotional and special song. The song is dedicated to the memory of Attrell Cordes.
After five years of recording and playing shows with the rock focused Tommy Marz Band and seeing both of the bands albums chart in the iTunes Rock top 30 charts (Seventy-One Trips Around The Sun finished at #7), Tommy decided to write/record a singer-songwriter/pop record and is excited for fans to hear this new collection. Chasing Light – The Summer Part One is the first of two E.P.’s Marz is scheduled to release in 2019. The first record is more pop oriented and the second will be more focused on the singer-songwriter genre.
Tommy started his solo career by launching a cover of George Michael’s Faith that took off when George Michael retweeted the video to his followers. The video topped 100,000 views on YouTube and followed with placements for Tommy’s music on NBC & MTV. Most recently Tommy’s version of Faith is featured in the upcoming movie – Hope and Mike’s Open Mic.
Today, Tommy is ready to reconnect with fans of his pop/singer-songwriter music and will also be announcing tour dates in the upcoming future.
