Tori Amos announced the release of her new Christmas EP ‘Christmastide’ that will be available on December 4. The EP features four new original Christmas songs by Tori Amos and past collaborators, Matt Chamberlain and Jon Evans.
In a statement released by Tori Amos she reveals her inspiration for the Christmas EP.
“With ‘Christmastide’ it was important to be positive and to try and lift people’s spirits. It’s a time of year that can be both joyful with family and friends but also can sadly be a very lonely place for some. There will be many families who will be unable to be together this year because of the Pandemic, so I hope these songs contained in this beautiful package can be a small treat to help along the way.”
The Pandemic affected Tori Amos personally as she released her bestselling memoir, Resistance: A Songwriter’s Story of Hope, Change, and Courage, back in May of 2020. She was scheduled to head out on a book tour to support the memoir in the spring but those plans were scrapped when the Pandemic seemingly put the world on pause.
