Weezer – OK Human

On Sunday Weezer announced that they would be releasing a new album January 29. The album titled ‘OK Human’ will be the band’s 14th studio album. The first single “All My Favorite Songs” will be released ahead of the album on January 21. The band also announced that they will be making a pre-order for a limited vinyl release of the album at the same time. The name of the album is possibly a nod to Radiohead’s classic 1997 album ‘OK Computer’.

Weezer fans are still waiting for the release of their 80s-rock influenced album ‘Van Weezer’. ‘Van Weezer’ was originally announced in 2019 and was set to be released May 15, 2020. However, the Covid-19 pandemic pushed those plans back. Along with the announcement of “OK Human” Weezer also announced that they are still releasing “Van Weezer” on May 7 2021. Three singles, “The End of the Game”, “Hero”, and “Beginning of the End” have already been released as singles off of the album. The 80s-rock theme is inspired by bands like KISS, Metallica, and Van Halen, which also inspired the name of the album. After the announcement of ‘OK Human’ Weezer tweeted “p.s. Van Weezer is still coming out on May 7th”.

Along with the release of ‘Van Weezer’ Weezer was slated to hit the road in 2020 with Green Day and Fall Out Boy on the Hella Mega Tour. That tour was also postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and North American tour dates have been rescheduled for 2021.
