Astrid S Announces Debut Album – Leave It Beautiful

Norwegian pop star Astrid S announces her debut album Leave It Beautiful out October 16th via Island Records. Her brand new single ‘It’s OK If You Forget Me’ is out now.

Leave It Beautiful was recorded in Sweden and created by Astrid alongside duo Jack & Coke (Charli XCX, Tove Lo, Carly Rae Jepsen, Rita Ora). With every track co-written by Astrid herself, her debut record is a personal exploration of the 23-year-old artist’s journey so far, as she finds herself in the wake of break-ups, monumental changes and growing pains in her life. The lyrics depict a coming of age story where Astrid accepts life lessons with gratitude, depicted in the title ‘Leave It Beautiful’.

On releasing her debut album, Astrid S says:

‘I’m releasing my debut album, Leave It Beautiful, October 16th. Making this album has been some of the hardest and most fun I’ve ever experienced, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone!

For her debut album, Astrid enlisted an array of talented songwriters to collaborate with her including Grammy Award-winning writer and producer Fred Ball (Rihanna, Beyonce, Madonna), Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran, Alicia Keys), Eyelar (Demi Lovato, Little Mix), Ludvig Söderberg (Tove Lo, P!nk), Caroline Ailin (Dua Lipa, Katy Perry) and Tia Scola (Saweetie). ‘Leave It Beautiful’ follows an already successful career to date, including the release of three successful EPs, over a billion and a half streams, collaborations with the likes of Shawn Mendes and JP Cooper, tours with Years & Years, Zara Larsson and Troye Sivan and a successful sold-out headline world tour of her own.

Today Astrid S releases her new single ‘It’s OK If You Forget Me’, the third track to be revealed from her debut record. Co-written by Astrid, Jack & Coke and Caroline Pennell, it leads with Astrid’s signature icy, melodic vocals as she reflects fondly on a break-up with a sense of acceptance and maturity reflected throughout her debut album. ‘It’s OK If You Forget Me’ follows lead single off the album ‘Dance Dance Dance – a disco-tinged track which explores the idea of dancing pain away and Marilyn Monroe – a feel-good, empowering track which calls out the unbalanced attention women receive for their appearance. Both videos were directed by Astrid herself, showcasing a new era in the pop star’s career and how personal this record is to her. Following suit, Astrid will release a music video for new single ‘It’s OK If You Forget Me’ shortly.
