Liverpool-based BANNERS, fronted by Michael Nelson, whose music has earned over 1.8 billion global streams, offers a lament for love both requited and unrequited with the transcendent new single, “Serenade.”  The track, along with the recent “If I Didn’t Have You” (released in March) will be included on BANNERS’ upcoming new EP, due this summer, followed by a US tour kicking off in the fall.
 
BANNERS’ RIAA platinum break-out hit, “Someone To You” garnered over a billion streams, and hundreds of thousands of TikTok videos. The song exploded at Hot AC over the spring and has been earned many high-profile synchs including a feature in the movie After; the trailer for Love, Victor; a T-Mobile commercial; and dozens more television synchs.
 
BANNERS’ songs have an anthemic, ecclesiastical quality. They are haunting and inspiring, effer­ves­cent, and relatable. In the space between piano chords, sweeping beats, and orchestral guitar, an awakening happens. As if stirring to life, the music of BANNERS ascends towards steeple-size heights lifted by front-man Michael Nelson’s dynamic delivery and exquisite songcraft as well as the robust presence and impressive instrumental chops of his band.
 
Emerging in 2015, BANNERS has carved out a place within the zeitgeist. Banners debut self-titled BANNERS EP was released in 2016, followed by a second EP in 2017, Empires On Fire, which included the original version of the landmark breakout track “Someone To You” (with nearly 1 billion global streams), featured on American Idol and more.
 
Where the Shadow Ends, the debut album from BANNERS was released October 2019, and over­lapped a 5-week tour of prestigious small venues across the U.S. and Canada. The album’s standout track “Got It In You” went viral after its acoustic version was featured on the ABC television dramas, Grey’s Anatomy and The Good Doctor. The acoustic track was the lynchpin of the third EP, Always Yours (May 2020) which added newly recorded acoustic versions of other songs first heard on Where the Shadow Ends. The acoustic “Got It In You” has gone on to net over 145 million global streams. 
 
Along the way, BANNERS has toured with the likes of Milky Chance and POP ETC and performed on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, Live with Kelly and Ryan,  and American Idol. Influenced by artists ranging from Jeff Buckley to Arcade Fire, BANNERS is fascinated by dreams, life, death, hope and despair. The results are a musical landscape that is at once haunting and hopeful, as it resonates with audiences across space and age.
