11 December 2018
I’ve got some ear bliss for you.
With a mixture of shoegaze and dreampop, this duo from California debuts their new song December. It has a great New Order groove combined with dreamy synths and those staccato guitars that remind me of something off of Bloodletting by Concrete Blonde.
Both Jenny and husband Joseph, list Kate Bush and The Chills as influences. Not bad at all, having Kate and Martin Phillipps serve as inspiration when getting into your creative space. And frankly, it’s a great mix of music to keep the brain constantly thinking. I am a fan of both as well.
I am now a fan of Fawns Of Love and I am excited to hear what comes next. Fortunately, we will not have to wait too long. Permanent, the second full-length by Fawns of Love, is scheduled for release on Jan. 18th, 2019 via Test Pattern Records.
Here’s a quick explanation for December:
“December is historically a bad month for me. I was born in December and have experienced many family tragedies throughout my life during the month of December. As illogical as it sounds I have become convinced that the month is a bad omen and refuse to celebrate my birthday.” – Jenny Andreotti, Fawns of Love
Take four minutes and twenty-five seconds and give this track a ride. I think you’ll enjoy your journey.
