Gwen Stefani – “Let Me Reintroduce Myself”
Gwen Stefani has released her first new music since 2017’s ‘You Make It Feel Like Christmas’. The song “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” harkens back to her ska roots with No Doubt.
Stefani was not trying to write a comeback album but she has recently written 20 songs for a possible comeback album. Stefani said to Zane Lowe on Apple Music, “I never expected to be writing, but it was in there. And it’s been really, really incredible.”
In the press release Stefani said of the new song: “This song is a way of saying I’m back with new music. It’s a fun, light-hearted song, because I got inspired and hopefully to bring a little bit of joy. The idea was to write a song that had a bit of a nostalgic feeling to it, so I think musically it reminds you of back in the day, going back to where I started musically which was with ska and reggae. I’m still the same me but here’s something a little bit new in case you feel like hearing a little bit more of me.”
Younger fans might best know Gwen Stefani now as a judge on The Voice and from her public relationship with country music star Blake Shelton but she is much more than that. Gwen Stefani had massive success with No Doubt and solo in the late 90s and early 2000s. “Don’t Speak”, “Underneath It All”, “Hey Baby”, and “Hollaback Girl” were all number one Billboard hits.
Gwen Stefani celebrated the new song by wearing her outfit from No Doubt’s “Just A Girl” music video 25 years later.
