Interview: Michigander

Michigander has a brand new EP out.  The six collection – ‘Everything Will Be OK Eventually’, was released on March 19, 2021.

Michigander is the musical alter ego and brainchild of the Detroit based, Jason Singer.  Singer has a gift for writing super catchy and clever pop songs.  He puts them together and delivers an energetic but cerebral experience for the listener.

We talked about the effects that the Covid-19 Pandemic had on music in general and I was so pleased to hear that Michigander just played a show in Nashville to large audience.  Well as large as it could be due to health restrictions!

Singer tells me, “I wasn’t sure what to expect with it being a pandemic and everything.  We had a hundred people there and everyone was singing along.  I felt very grateful to be there and I felt like everyone else felt grateful to see live music for the first time in a while.  It felt really good and I imagine that will continue when things get back to normal.  We’re hoping this year that will happen and I think shows will be even more special than they ever were.”

Those are great words.  I agree completely as well.  I think shows in the future, or at least the immediate future, will hold a special place in so many people’s hearts.  Musicians, venues and the fans.  Michigander will definitely be doing their part in bringing live music to as many people as possible.  And the people in attendance will no doubt be in for a treat.
