Jack White – Jack White: Live at the Masonic Temple

Jack White has announced that he is releasing a live album that was recorded in Detroit in 2014. The album is only available through his Third Man Records Vault Subscription. His performance of “Missing Pieces” from the night has already been released.

‘Jack White: Live at the Masonic Temple’ was recorded on July 30, 2014 at the Masonic Temple. The show was part of his ‘Lazaretto’ tour that saw him play Detroit’s Fox Theatre two days before and throw out the first pitch for the Detroit Tigers the day before that. 

The 38-song performance featured songs that spanned his entire career and some covers. The covers include “Devil’s Haircut” by Beck and “Ramblin’ Man” by Hank Williams. The set also features a guest appearance from Alison Mosshart and Dean Fertita, his bandmates from Dead Weather, performing their song “I Cut Like a Buffalo”.

“Jack White: Live at the Masonic Temple” will be released on four colored LPs. A 7” vinyl recording of White’s October 2020 Saturday Night Live performance will be released with the live album. The Saturday Night Live set had him performing “Lazaretto” and a “Don’t Hurt Yourself”, “Ball and Biscuit”, and “Jesus Is Coming Soon” medley.

The Masonic Temple is a very meaningful venue in White’s life. When White was young and his mom was looking for a job the venue hired her as an usher. Back in 2013 it was revealed that Jack White saved the venue from foreclosure by donating $142,000 because of what it had did for his mom. The Masonic Temple then renamed their Cathedral Theater to “Jack White Theater”. Detroit’s Masonic Temple is the largest Masonic Temple in the world.
