New Listen: Pale Waves – Easy

Pale Waves releases silky new single “Easy” on their forthcoming album.

Pale Waves is releasing their next single “Easy” January 13th ahead of their next album releasing on February 12th.  “Easy” is  a slightly softer sound than many of the bands earlier music and holds true to their form with pop punk/pop rock vibes that strike a nostalgic core in the 90’s or early 2000’s music lover in me.

“Easy” is a shimmering pop anthem that describes being in love with being in love.  I did immediately think this song is about my dog until I realized “Pale Waves” had never met my dog.  I thought perhaps it is a song about their dog but came to the conclusion that this song is about pure love that love brings joy to all involved.  This song is a slight departure from their previous music which is darker.  They have slightly departed from their previous music but this is not a full departure, this is just the band showing us there is more to them and they continue to grow.

The lead singer, Heather Baron-Gracie, has a silky voice that resonates perfectly with the steady and pulsating music that keeps a feeling of movement in the song.  The intro is a happy positive buildup to the musical momentum kept through its entirety. The song has a forward feeling that is reminiscent of their message of love. The band uses a nice blend of acoustic guitar and symphonic sounds that give this song a classic sound that lives well and strong in current modern times.  Loving this song is “Easy”!
