New Listen – Pretty Awkward Share New Song and Lyric Video “Misfits”

Have you ever come across someone that does not care much for music?  I have found a few in my lifetime and I am always left wondering, “what is their human disconnect, do they even feel?”. To me and many others, music makes us connect with the world around us either in a deeply profound way or a fun and unexplainable way depending on the music.  The new song shared by Pretty Awkward is encompassing the deeper connection we feel with their new single “Misfits”. This is a song for youth and older people alike that have defied the norm with a rebellious attitude.

The song is not just an anthem for rebellious youth, this song is also a fun and catchy pop tune with an upbeat tempo, fun to sing along to and steadily building in a positive vibe.  The chorus is infective, the kind that you would have playing over and over in your mind for an entire day.

Austin Held of the band says of “Misfits”: “‘Misfits’ to us feels very much like the middle of summer, riding bikes and hanging out. Especially during these times, being there for our friends and family couldn’t be more important. We love the imagery of that compassion and unity it conveys in the song.”

In Pretty Awkward fashion, “Misfits” is on par with their style in songs like “Higher” and “Dangerous Love”. Their songs are full of complex sounds using drums, piano, guitar and more to create a catchy song full of positivity.  I cannot wait to see what comes next for this band as they continue to build their library.
