Top Ten: Megadeath Songs - Artist's Pick

I woke up this morning with A Tout le Monde playing in my head. After springing forward due to daylight savings time, I decided to get up, make some coffee and list out my top ten favorite Megadeth songs. I’ve yet to do a Megadeth ranking and I was excited to start writing out the first 20 or so songs that came to my head. After the list got to thirty right away I decided that ten would not be enough. The only problem now would be ranking twenty spots.

Eventually, I was able to rank them and it was a tough decision on which song would be first on my list. In fact, at any given time the top three could be number one. Believe it or not a lot of effort goes into these lists. I go back and listen to each track and it is not something I put together in five minutes. That would not do anyone justice. I spent six minutes on this list.

Kidding. Holy Wars… is over six minutes and I listen to that one twice.

Sometimes when a person makes lists like these they usually get one of two critiques – “Oh great, a list full of hits” or “Where’s Pour Some Sugar On Me, that’s number one – it was their biggest hit!?!” For the record, I don’t make lists like this one to appease either one of those crowds. I make them because I love talking about bands that I listen to often and it’s fun to open dialogue and see where other people land on certain bands. This list happens to be my favorite songs, ranked in order of my listening preference from Megadeth. I hope you enjoy re-listening to the songs on my list. I know I did.
