As Lady Antebellum gets ready to release their highly anticipated eighth studio album Ocean on November 15th, their fans have been treated to some great pieces of music that have been released as singles. What If I Never Get Over You has established itself not only on the Country Music Charts but inside the Billboard Hot 100 as well.
A second single Be Patient With My Love has all the makings for yet another hit for the band. A beautiful acoustic guitar starts the song and while it retains that classic Lady A sound, my mind immediately went to Bruce Springsteen. It just had that Ghost of Tom Joad sound filling up my ears through the speakers. Sometimes a song doesn’t have to be upbeat to move you and that’s something “The Boss” has always been able to do. Similarly, the band has always had this knack for bringing you in and keeping you there with great songwriting, peaks and valley’s and superstar production. In short, this is a well put together song.
When I was speaking with guitar player for the band, Slim Gambill last week, I asked him about Ocean. He said it was special and that while he may be biased, he assured me the album is unbelievable. Coincidentally, when we were talking about some of Slim’s favorite albums and artists, I was surprised to learn that we both shared a love of Springsteen’s – Darkness On The Edge Of The Town. From one unbelievable album to another, I think fans might be in for a real treat. And judging by the two singles Lady Antebellum has released so far, I’m sure they will not be disappointed.
