Wrestlemania 37 Night Two Preview

Wrestlemania 37 – Night Two

Night One Preview

Night Two of Wrestlemania 37 will air at 8 PM on April 11 on Peacock. Night Two doesn’t have the same “first night in front of a crowd” feeling but it should be great nonetheless.

Sami Zayn (w/ Logan Paul) vs Kevin Owens

The saying “Good friends, but better enemies” has never made more sense then when it describes these two. They go all the way back to their early days in Montreal, through the independents, and even into NXT a few years ago. I think Sami has been killing it with his theories of the WWE conspiracy against him and I can’t wait to see Kevin Owens beat the conspiracies out of him. While the feud seems like it was built pretty fast the Logan Paul addition seems particularly confusing. I get that they want another young celebrity that moves the needle and Logan Paul does that as well as anybody. Logan and his brother Jake are currently two of the most talked about names in boxing and should give WWE a little bit of a bump. With or without Paul I expect Kevin and Sami to beat the piss out of each other in what should be a very entertaining match. I expect Owens to get the win which will only encourage Sami to seek out the truth about why he perceives everybody being against him.

Predicition: Kevin Owens

Matt Riddle (c) vs Sheamus – United States Championship

WWE has done a pretty poor job building up Matt Riddle’s character. They’ve made him a giant geek and a walking weed joke. Riddle is a former UFC fighter and I wish they would push that part of his character more to establish how tough he really is. Sheamus is…well, Sheamus. Not that he’s bad but I don’t think he excites many wrestling fans. I can’t see any reason why they would book Sheamus to win the title with how both are being booked.

Prediction: Matt Riddle

Big E (c) vs Apollo Crews – Intercontinental Championship

While I don’t expect this to be a great match I do think it could be the beginning of something special. If Apollo can get the win I think it bodes well for what the plans are for Big E after Mania. If he loses the title I expect him to be catapulted straight into the Universal Title picture. Having said that I don’t think they have Big E lose at Mania to Apollo. I think they want the visual of Big E winning in a singles Wrestlemania match. It is my opinion Apollo should get the W on Sunday.

Prediction: Big E

Randy Orton vs “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt

This feud has been going on for what feels like forever. I think most people are over it and would have preferred a different Wrestlemania match for both guys. With the burning of The Fiend and Randy Orton vomiting black liquid I’m just over it. I can suspend disbelief with the best of them but most of this feud has made no sense. I hope Bray goes back to the original Bray Wyatt character sooner than later.

Prediction: The Fiend

Asuka (c) vs Rhea Ripley – Raw Women’s Championship

This seems like the easiest pick of both nights. It makes too much sense to have Rhea Ripley win the title here. Asuka has been a good champion but Rhea is the future of the women’s division and the future is now.

Prediction: Rhea Ripley

Roman Reigns (c) vs Edge vs Daniel Bryan – Universal Championship

I can’t tell you how excited I am to see Edge and Daniel Bryan in a match together. This seemed to be impossibility even a few years ago but we are getting it now. Throw in Roman Reigns and this should be an awesome match. Roman has been disliked by the fans most of his career and most of the hate has been because of the way he was booked. Once Roman turned heel everything changed and he’s now one of the more popular wrestlers in the company. Even while Roman was hated by the fans he always seemed to put on a good match. Add in Bryan and Edge with their resumes and we should end the show with a great match. Usually WWE wants to end Wrestlemania on a high note and I think the last year has made that an even bigger focus. I think that means either Bryan or Edge are winning on Sunday. My prediction is that Bryan wins on Sunday and we transition into a singles feud between Edge and Bryan. There isn’t much that would make wrestling fans happier than watching Edge and Bryan going one-on-one for a few months.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan
